The five members of Radio Head are the exact same as they are today as they were formed(1993.) Thom Yorke(lead guitarist/vocalist/pianoist) was born in October 7th 1968, John Greenwood(guitar,effects) born the 5th of November 1971, Ed O`brien(Guitar,vocals, born april 15th 1968)Phil Sewey(born 23 May 1967, drums), and Colin GreenWood(born 26th of June, bass) met at school. Oxfordshire started rocking around 1986. Intentially called On A Friday, after the day of the week they were permitted to rehearse or practice, the band somehow, inexpliccably, managed to stay together while each member went to study a degree. More to come in later comments, but i have to see if Dante will keep letting me post bands every week and information on them. In kater parts of the story it talk about "Creep" and their cahnge in their style of music. Oh and if there is a mistake in this short part Benk you should know. Oh and everyone if I spelled something wrong please tell me so I can edit it. So Dante can i keep posting infromation on bands every week? |

At venues, like Jericho Tavern, a small upstairs room at a pub with a PA, On A Friday began to learn crafting. Oxford by no doubt a musical backwater, as the band went to greater leghnths to point out(to this day,whenever it was possible, would practice in Hotels there.) Bands such as Ride had already made quite a name for the city, Spearheading a new 'Shoegazing' movement in the early 90's. Local Music(in a local area)papers took more interest as the group started playing more gigs. EMI, impressed with what they saw, sighned the band on a six album deal, providing them to change their name. Radio Head. Radio Head came from a track on the Talking Heads. |
